My Rating: 4 stars out of 5

Genre: Romantic Suspense

Courtney Lane always writes hero’s which I feel I should be hating on, but instead I love them.
I always read every book this author releases so it was a bonus that I won this in the Shh summer event (yay!). Once again this woman had me hooked from beginning till the end and I am still guessing whether there will be a part 2 to this (please say yes Courtney).

Sugar is living a double life, one where she is a fighter in the streets and another being locked up in her home by her father, a dangerous and powerful man. Catch, a man full of secrets, meets her at one of these fights and convinces her that he can help her. But his secrets may be too much for Sugar to handle, and the truth may be something which breaks her.

I was surrounded by mystery at every turn, guessing what would happen, what could be the secret of Sugar’s father but most importantly what was Catch’s agenda in all of it. One thing I loved was that I couldn’t possibly have guessed what would happen. Usually in mysteries there is always a hunch which sometimes comes true, but not in this book. I actually like the surprised feeling I get when I discover the secret for myself!

I loved Sugar’s character. Even though she was emotionally weak after being traumatised by her father, she always came across as strong and never backed down. There was a dark element surrounding it, and there is a lot of blood so beware. But it is a fantastic story which will totally blow you! It is really hard to talk much about the story line but I recommend this book.
