My Rating: 4 stars out of 5
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Lauren Layne never disappoints! It has been a long time since I read one of her books and I have definitely missed her writing. The Wedding Belles is one of those series about a different couple in each book. I don’t really read books like those usually, I mean I’ll read probably one couple’s story, but I think I will be picking up the next book in this series! Just because it’s Lauren Layne.
This book runs exactly like a good romcom movie would. It’s fun and it’s addictive and it makes you come back for more. This book is about a wedding planner named Heather and her neighbour, Josh. Now Heather is determined to get a promotion and her whole life revolves around her career. She’s not much of a social person. Josh has personal battles he has dealt with. While he walked the whole Wall Street part in the past, now he’s consumed with making music and living life. Or his version of what he thinks should be living life. They’re both not looking for a relationship for different reasons but they can’t deny the bond they end up developing.
This book is definitely fun to read from beginning to end. The banter between Josh and Heather is on point and the writing makes you want to read more. The characters are well developed and it’s hard to not end up loving them all. I’m really digging Logan and Seth too! So may be I will have to read their stories as well in the future.
On a final note, the storyline was well written and the characters were written flawlessly. It is more than just a story about two people falling for each other. It is also about overcoming the things you thought were most important in life but they’re really not. It’s about seeing what important and valuing people is. This is definitely a must read for any contemporary lovers.
