My Rating: 5 stars out of 5
Genre: Contemporary Romance
I’ve had this book since July and I have no idea why I waited so long to pick it up. It was sooo good. R K Lilley is a bloody brilliant writer and she instantly had me in love with the storyline.
It’s common to read about sweet love. But it’s something unique for me to read a book dedicated to hate. Scarlett, who is committed to breaking the love of her life. It’s violent, the words exchanged obviously cause a lot more harm than physical hurt. I freaking loved it. Loved Scarlett for who she was. She was a bitch straight out, but I don’t blame her one bit. The world was horrible to her and I’m glad that instead of cowering away she channelled all that pain into rage. She never backed down, she gave it right back. And that makes her so much more likeable than a sweet and innocent heroine.
Dante was interesting. I wasn’t sold on the whole him being a horrible person from the start. He seemed good, and he actually seemed like he cared about Scarlett. They both shared a weird bond, there was a lot of history, years of each others support but there was also a lot of pain. The outcome was disastrous but amazing.
That is all I have to say for now. This book was just fantastic.
May be one day I will come back with more words but this is all for now.
